The Mohawk Trail in CT is the former route of the Appalachian Trial, having been changed in 1988 to keep the AT on the west side of the Housatonic River. I hiked my first section in 2013 as a weekend backpacking trip with the Boy Scouts. It was the first of many backpacking trips for me and the Scouts, we all enjoyed this section of the Mohawk Trail and it sparked my love of hiking and backpacking.
